SampleNavigator has a Windows App, specially designed for laboratory use: a place with parallel tasks, frequent interruptions. Laboratory personnel starts a task, switch to another task.
Normal software is not made for that kind of use: you start a task, finish the task, and switch to a new task. For instance you start with a general ledger entry, you fill in, check it, and close it. And then you start with the next general ledger entry.
But in a laboratory you start with running an instrument, see that another instrument is ready, you handle the data of the second instrument, while still looking at the first instrument.

In SampleNavigator each instrument, each work process for an instrument, has its own page. The system keeps track exactly where you are.
